WHEN COMFORT AND PERFORMANCE GO HAND IN HAND
BMW NR 7s Long Version with 720 HP

There is no doubt that 7 Series is the BMW absolute and unconditional leader, even when it comes in the Long Version. Needless to say, when the Bavarian-based TUNINGWERK company from Puchheim in Munich area tries its hand at this supercar, we can most definitely say it is a very special event.

Engine power - that is, in two power amplifier stages - is a top priority for this well-established blue-and-white bannered "tuning smithery". We are talking here first and foremost about greater power augmentation. After a little revitalization at TUNINGWERK the 7 Series is going by the NR 7s nickname and features almost breathtaking power specifications. Quite obviously, that this upgrade was aimed at building up horsepower. It produces 720 BHP with the maximum torque of 1,090 Nm. The flat-out is reached at 350 km/hr as well as the really "smooth" acceleration from 0 to 100 km/hr in just 3.5 seconds with the weight of roughly 2 tons seem very convincing.

Equipped with a 5- or 6-gear sport automatic transmission, the unique CarbonCeramic brake system featuring 396 mm ceramic brake disks for the front axle and only slightly smaller ones for the back axle saves about 70 kg revolving mass in a streamlined teamwork with wheel disks and tyres. TUNINGWERK shook off another 50 kg (totalof 120 kg) without compromising the absolutely fully equipped Fonds Entertainment System! The weight reduction was achieved by means of the lightweight design sports exhaust system, as well as CarbonHybrid car front and body sills. With the gas tank only half full the Long Version F02 weighs 2,030 kg and will cost its proud owner 198,000 euros.

The "small-scale" power augmentation will also make sense bringing forward such advantages as 530 HP with maximum torque of 740 Nm, maximum speed of 310 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. The vehicle costs 169,800 euros with a 6-gear sport automatic transmission (also available with all-wheel drive) and a HighPerformance steel brake system.

You'll be drooling when you browse through technical highlights of NR 7s. As Oscar Wilde said, I am always satisfied with the best.

BMW i8

The BMW i8 Concept and the fascinating approach that underpins it embody the vision of a sustainable contemporary sports car brought to life. Its innovative plug-in hybrid concept combines the modified electric drive system from the BMW i3 Concept – fitted over its front axle – with a high-performance three-cylinder

combustion engine producing 164 kW/220 hp and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) at the rear. Working in tandem, they allow the two drive systems to display their respective talents to the full, delivering the performance of a sports car but the fuel consumption of a small car.

Acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in under five seconds combined with fuel consumption in the European cycle of under three litres per 100 kilometres (approx. 94 mpg imp) are figures currently beyond the capability of any vehicle powered by a combustion engine of comparable performance. Thanks to its large lithium-ion battery, which can be charged from a domestic power supply, the BMW i8 Concept can travel up to 35 kilometres (approx. 20 miles) on electric power alone. Added to which, the 2+2-seater offers enough space for four people, giving it a high level of everyday practicality.

The LifeDrive architecture of the BMW i8 Concept has been carefully adapted to enhance the vehicle’s sports car character, and therefore to deliver unbeatable performance and excellent driving dynamics. The motor in the front axle module and combustion engine at the rear are connected by an “energy tunnel”, which houses the high-voltage battery. This gives the car a low centre of gravity – and the dynamic benefits that come with it. The positioning of the electric motor and engine over their respective axles and the space-saving and well-balanced packaging of all components result in an optimum 50/50 weight distribution.

The emotional design of the BMW i8 Concept ensures its qualities are clear for all to see. Its dynamic proportions give the BMW i8 Concept the appearance of surging forward before it even turns a wheel and lend visual form to its extraordinary performance.
The sporting character continues into the interior. Boasting a driver-focused environment unmatched by any BMW Group vehicle before it, the BMW i8 Concept immerses the driver fully in the unique driving experience. The BMW i8 Concept is the sports car for a new generation – pure, emotional and sustainable.

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rnNQHrn--BE/TmpPPbk2VcI/AAAAAAAE_NU/xw5jKVmH06A/s1600/AC-Schnitzer-BMW-1-M-C-12.jpg

AC Schnitzer has releases new tuning packages for the BMW 1-Series M Coupe, this program will debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show

At the exterior, the German specialists decided to add a body kit including air vents for the bonnet, new front spoiler and a rear diffuser. All these components are made of carbon fiber while new 19 or 20-inch wheels are available as well.

Inside, the most important change is the replacement of the standard seats with track-ready ones. The interior is painted with the same Valencia Orange color as seen on the outside, including the center console. The gear know, iDrive and pedals also get the AC Schnitzer treatment.

The additional 60 horses and 110 Nm of torque are achieved by few usual tricks such as a remapped ECU unit or a revised exhaust system. There is also a high performance braking system with 6 and 4 pistons. With the power boost, the German model is able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4,7 seconds and hit a top speed of 300 km/h.

Strong Presence Between Sky and Road

AC Schnitzer presents a complete range for the 650i Convertible
Since spring this year, the new BMW 6-series has been providing airy driving pleasure between
sky and road. The open 6-series fun is now enhanced by Aachen company AC Schnitzer with its
tuning range for the 650i Cabriolet, which celebrates its premiere at the IAA in Frankfurt this year.
Top down driving pleasure and aerodynamics have not been mutually exclusive for some time.
This is proven by the tuning experts with aerodynamic components previously unavailable in this
form. Front spoiler, chromed front grille and chrome decor strips can be fitted individually or
as a harmonious set to realize the dream of an individual sporting vehicle. AC Schnitzer also
offers a rear skirt insert and loading lip protection film to give the bodywork of the 6-series
cabrio that finishing touch.

In the engine too, no technical know-how has been spared with a wealth of innovations. The 650i
Cabrio by AC Schnitzer has been given a performance upgrade taking it from 407 HP (standard)
to 540 HP. Now the eight-cylinder engine accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds.
Added to this is the AC Schnitzer power plant and engine bay styling, which demonstrates the
power of the engine even when stopped. The AC Schnitzer twin sports rear silencer with
chromed "Sport Trim" tailpipe trims right and left means that the 650i can also be seen and heard
from behind.

For the export market, the Aachen tuning experts have developed an 8-pot high performance
brake system for the front, in response to the increased driving power. The 8-piston fixed calipers
on right and left, and the 8-piece set of brake pads with caliper holders together ensure that the
"open-topped rocket" scrubs off the speed quickly and safely. The driving dynamics are further
assisted over bumps by the AC Schnitzer suspension spring kit.

In the interior too, the 650i by AC Schnitzer lives up to its exterior promises. Interior trim painted in
matt space grey, a sports airbag steering wheel, the AC Schnitzer "Black Line" aluminium
cover for the i-Drive system controller and the AC Schnitzer aluminium foot rests and pedals,
together with boot and foot mats in velours, ensure that the driver of this cabrio enjoys a feeling
of exclusivity.

The wheelarches can be perfectly filled with AC Schnitzer wheels and corresponding tyres in
Type IV BiColor or silver, Type V forged alloy rims in BiColor or Type VIII in BiColor or as forged
racing rims in BiColor. A totally new addition to the range is the Type VIII forged alloy wheel in
BiColor in 21-inch, which weighs in at just a sensational 11.5 kg (9.0J x 21") or 11.9 kg (10.0J x
21"). So in comparison with standard wheels (star spoke 311) in 20-inch, these offer a weight
saving of 30%. And that's despite the fact that the AC Schnitzer Type VIII forged alloy wheels are
a full inch larger.

A strong presence between sky and road which will certainly not pass unnoticed at the coming
IAA.
